Customer Classification
The business category used to describe the customer, such as residential, commercial, church, government, or nonprofit.
Why LAWNSNOWAPP asks for it
Classification helps the Owner organize customers and understand the kind of account being served.
How LAWNSNOWAPP uses it
LAWNSNOWAPP stores the category with the customer and uses it in Owner filtering and presentation. Tax exemption remains a separate, confirmed setting.
Example
Choose Commercial for a business property account, even if invoices go to an individual contact.
If you leave it blank
The customer uses the current default classification and may be harder to distinguish in filtered lists.
If you change it later
Owner presentation and filters use the new category; jobs, invoices, and tax-exemption confirmation are not rewritten.
Common mistakes
- Treating customer classification as proof of tax exemption
- Choosing a category based only on the contact person's name
